Dark with 1/2" garnet rim; slightly bizarre nose, reeks of the sea, cranberry, sour cherry, wild berry, shrimp shell; balanced on the palate, good acid, menthol, rustic and really tasty. Was tracking this but couldn't pinpoint Sardinia.

This is the poor man Terre Brune. Very good and versatile with food. It's chewy and well-balanced - sustained acidity too, quite common in Italian reds. Capable of moderate ageing, 5-7 years (more or less according to the vintage character). With the exception of the afore mentioned Terre Brune, this is the best expression I know of Carignano- Carignan-Carinena. I have tasted several vintages and indeed the quality always seems constant and convincing. (Pay no more than 12€).

Gut ausgewogen, herrlich!

Really lovely wine. Read fruits with loads of dried herbs and a satisfying taste. Feels great in the mouth and works well as a drink or with food.
