Typical Kistler dark red / purple color. Absolutely no evidence of this wine's age from nose, color or palate. Deep red berry and cola nose. Rich and thick mouth feel while also being smooth and somewhat velvety. Sweet red berry on the palate. Moderately long. Well balanced. The Definitely a level or 2 above most of the other regional Kistler PNs. While it's undoubtedly a great wine, it's unfortunate as a consumer to have to spend $95 to get that level of wine and makes it tough to justify the "points per dollar".
Medium red color. Aromas of black cherries, violets, underbrush and spices. Ripe, medium-bodied fruit in the mouth with excellent structure and an impressive core of acidity. Surprisingly restrained and high in acid for a 2003. Lovely with a range of excellent food at The Farm and the Fisherman Restaurant. Impressively, this wine has many years of delicious drinking ahead of it.
