Still moderately tannic on opening, yet not completely unforgiving. However, with air this shows the underlying sweet merlot fruit. Everything about this wine typical and average (concentration, texture, flavor). No harm in opening this now but it may actually improve from here is the fruit can last.

Popped and poured and enjoyed over two days. Loads of cedar and terroir on day one. The wine fleshed out a bit on day two showing plum fruit. This is a Bordeaux drinkers wine and very typical of the site and vintage. There is no reason to wait on these but they are in no danger of fading any time soon.

(Blind tasting) Lovely, minerally nose with dense fruit of plum, cedar and a beginning sweet dried fruit-aroma of maturity. A Point. Medium-fullish, Classic and balanced palate. Some sweet violet and plum fruit. Good intensity and very good grip. Positively austere. elegant and beautiful. Compared to 3 other 1995 Pomerol's and a Lynch-Bages, this wine showed above it's reputation. Not for cellaring, but drinking beautifully now. A surprise.

Nice wine. Can sense the '95 backwardness. Not sure if this was ever an outstanding wine but drinking great for 18 years old. Still some grip. Plum and cedar on the nose. Riper dark fruits on the palate along with some tobacco.
