No sediments at all, which indicates severe filtration. Lacks a bit on the aromatic side, which mainly consist of sour cherry fruit. Tight, tart and restrained on the palate. I guess this will improve with some more years in the cellar.

12.5% abv. As advertised for the 2008 vintage - light and acidic. On the pop 'n pour this struggled to present any aroma or flavor at cellar temp. Came a little bit alive as it warmed to room temp, but still was lacking. Not really much to like about this except that it has ample acidity to cut through fatty dishes. Not unpleasant, but there isn't much "there" there. Very underwhelming for the $49 I paid 8+ years ago. But I guess that's where we are with Burgundy, especially in cooler vintages. Went well enough with a rice and ground beef casserole.

Drank with Cholent - the acidity in this baby makes it perfect to break up heavy stews. Bright red berries, pretty serious acidity, light-bodied. It's not very complex or even elegant, but to accompany heavy food it's a great match.

Rather tart, even for a de Montille. Notes of red cherries, fine tannins and medium length. Maybe will improve with more cellar time.
