Popped and poured. Medium crimson color. Nose of black and red plums and cherries and some vanilla and toasty oak coming through. Fruit had a slightly baked quality to it but not overly dried or cooked. Similar flavors on the palate. Medium acid and tannin with a bit of oak lingering on the finish. Overall, a very tasty wine with a good amount of ripe red berry fruit. QPR is disappointing though. Would drink up if holding any.

we compared it to a Brunello Montalchino and noticed the Italian had more 'terroir', more sangiovese roundness. But the Aprile was fabulous, rich, smooth and full of flavors
