I had opened one of these soon after release, did NOT like it, no notes taken at the time. Opened tonight expecting to dump it. Very pleasantly surprised, evolving nose of Forrest floor, mushroom, meat. Tastes like cherry cola. This was a gift years ago, but had I paid $25 I would be stoked.

Nice dark berries aspect, cola, good balance with a touch of smoke; medium body, a little bit of juicy fruit, but more earthy than simple fruit, which I like. Good simple Pinot!

This wine was tasted in double-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. The bottle was kindly provided by Mike Christensen. Light-to-medium ruby robe. The nose is moderately intense and shows aromas of pomegranate, bramble and earth. Light-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and light tannins. The flavors are red fruit-dominated and the mouth texture is watery. The middle palate is hollow and the resurrected finish is short. While not offensive, I cannot award 80 points (or more) to any wine that has such a "doughnut hole" on the middle palate. Drink now-12/12.

Dry but rough on first impression. Overall worth trying in a couple of years.
