This strikes me as much better than the wine I described in my notes of 11/15/2015. Again the cork was stained halfway up, and again I did a 90 minute decant. The color is still a bright ruby, with no bricking, and the nose is still flowery red fruit, although I'm not noticing any minerals this time. The big difference comes on the palate which is a wonderfully complex blend of blackberries, raspberries and cherries. The finish is still long, but the fruit remains in balance with the acids and soft tannins. I had been planning to drink my final bottle before the year is over, but now I feel no hurry. On day two, it's lost some fruit and gained some heat. Definitely should drink all of this on opening day.

Cork stained halfway up. Decanted; minimal sediment. Poured 90 minutes later. Bright ruby color. Flowery red fruit nose with some minerality. Medium-to-full bodied with tasty red fruit, but which is no match for the acids and tannins that linger in a relatively long finish.

This wine has really benefited from a couple of years more cellar time. It still has a lot of freshness and is very lively but it has also smoothed out on the palate and the aromas have gained depth and complexity. It would definitely deserve a notch up but I think I've been a bit too generous last time....

Fluctuated between rustic and modern and I had trouble getting a handle on it - seemed underripe but not earthy or mineral either, just flat or closed - faint characteristics of fig, pencil, ash. Surprised to see I paid $30-up for it.
