A bit extracted, forced. Lacking the elegance expected from this grape. However it aged much better than was expected, and after some time began drinking more like a harsh Pinot than a obnoxious cab.

Great vineyard, great producer- but I definitely held on for too long. Some palates may like the hot raisin profile in an older wine, but I prefer to open a wine before all the luscious fruit flavors dissipate. I waited too long. My husband and our friend who both enjoy a wine with more of a POW really liked the wine. It just goes to show- everyone's palate is different!

This was decanted and drank over about five hours - before, during and after dinner. It never really found its place, always awkward. The fruit is on the decline and getting a little stewed, and there's this pervasive astringency throughout the profile with pronounced acidity on the finish . There's no need to repeat what has been stated in previous reviews of this wine, it apparently fell of a cliff in late 2008. It was a hot year in Oregon and it is interesting to consider that this is sometimes what happens to pinot made from grapes grown in a hot year, and why some folks say drink these while they're young. It was a really great experience and I learned a lot by opening it - I've got one more bottle in the cellar which should probably be enjoyed soon.

A heavy pinot that I thought might get better as the Thanksgiving evening progressed - not the case. Was a disappointment.
