  • $39. This is drinking really well right now with probably a couple more years of improvement in it for the final remaining tannin to resolve.

    Slight bricking at this point, though still bright and young to the eye, slightly cloudy.

    Definitely masculine in style with a fair amount of gamey meatiness on the nose though blending in well with mellowing raspberry. A really great nose on this. In the mouth, some cedar up front, with more of the meatiness, red fruits, and some soy sauce. Smooth tannins almost completely resolved. Generous silkiness with medium plus acidity remaining. Not immensely complex but a fair bit of depth to it.

    Medium finish, more of the meat and raspberry.

  • Hotel Bel Air: Almost same color as Pommard and Nuits; slighly more faded scarlet; cherry and leather nose; rounder, more interesting mth--slightly richer; plenty of a’s, earthy, cherry mth; med. fin.
