I wasn’t expecting much from this wine based on its ratings and being so far past its projected drinking window. Pleasantly surprised with still lots of fruit and tannins. Finish was a bit short.

Opens slowly showing cherry fruit and strong vegetal flavors. Balance between acid and fruit is off, and even for someone who likes veggies in his wine this is somewhat off putting.

Aromas of red fruit, earth, and alcoholic heat. The palate has thin red fruits & tons of acid, but no tannins to support the acid. Maybe give it some time for the acid to attempt to integrate, but I doubt time will do much to help given its lack of balance/structure now. They always say don't use wine you wouldn't drink to cook with, but this did make a decent wine reduction sauce.
