Really quite nice and interesting at this point in its evolution. Some age in the color while pouring, but still bright in the glass. Some rose-water notes to the still quite tart cranberry and still firm tannins. I'm guessing the fruit probably won't outlast the tannin, and plan to drink the last bottle within 2013.

After a surprisingly good 2008 Duboeuf Morgon Jean Descombes recently, I saw this wine (and the Morgon) on sale locally to make room for the 2009's, and decided to give this a try. It was decently typcial of Fleurie, and with the lighter tangier vintage character, but overall it was more anonymous and less compelling than the Morgon. Perhaps this should have been consumed earlier and the Morgon is just a better ager (I'd expect as much). Either way, no harm at eleven dollars, but with the hype of 2009 those are priced at 17+, and that seems a stretch.

Great Cru Beaujolais. Has a wonderfully feminine aroma of cranberry, red raspberry and candied fruit punch. Strong powerful acidity lends this wine strength. While thin the finish is longer then you would expect and the acid works great with foods. Had with Hamburgers

An elegant adult version of cran-grape juice. Long clean finish.
