oldest roussane i've ever had. was worried looking at the bottle - dark honey color with floaters. cork was wet to the top, but came out nicely in one piece. aroma was wonderful. honey, apricot, peach and ?flint. mouthfeel was still viscous without being overly so. still a little acid left to balance this one out. palate did show nice fruit but lacked a wow factor. expected given the fact this is 10 years old? finish is short and rather dull which detracted from the overall experience.

Very dark and cloudy, aged Sauternes color. Wonderful mature Roussanne nose(Alban style) of apricot, match strike sulfur, honey butter, toasted hazelnut, citrus. NOT at all like the last time, which was a stank mess of garbage can, and asparagus piss! This is what it's suppose to be like. In the mouth, a lot more acid in this one! A little tingle with the orange/lemon citrus acidity...giving it life. Super complex aged Roussanne flavors of apricot, peach, baked apple with honey butter, smoky hazelnuts, peach tea, match strike. Rich and oily, yet has a sharpness to it from the acid. Pretty nice balance....very tasty...and back to the greatness as the first time I had it. Aging well....this was a perfect bottle!

Lots of nuts mixed with matchstick, peach, spice and a bit of smoke. Somewhat unusual flavors but still enjoyable. Mature but not old. I wouldn't hold on to this any longer. Very nice, quite seamless but lacking complexity.

Oh fu!$@$@%.......what a stank nose on opening! Stinky garbage can, asparagus piss nose. jn would be callin 911 right now. But but but.....it opens, it recovers, it is still alive. The nose is still a little funked...with buttered rum mix, smoked fig, hazelnut, canned spinach.....beginning to show the classic Alban match strike. In the mouth...creamy, spicy, slight sour/oxidized.....showing the same flavors as the nose, as well as vanilla creme, smoked fig, apricot puree. Not as appealing as past bottles...more funk, more sour...I think a little oxidized. Not a great bottle...but still gives some pleasure for the Alban purists. 94pts last time........
