Good cork, great color. Classic Pauillac nose of cedar, tobacco, old library books, mint, hints of red fruit. But after a few minutes the light bodied and silky palate turns short and sharp and volatile.

Cloudy garnet. Slightly darker than a 1940 drank alongside. Tomatoes on the nose which was surprising. Dry tannins which became more noticeable with air. Not as good as the first time I tried. From ST

Slightly hazy. Dark ruby to garnet. Developed to tired nose which suggested a much older wine than the colour, so well stored. Leather and herbaceous notes. Medium tannins and medium bodied so structure is incredibly still there. Some nice lead pencil and graphite with time. Layered and balanced. A real treat to have this 70 year old. Shared by ST
