  • Amazing experience. The ullage was right into the neck, used a regular corkscrew and the cork came out with relative ease, but it broke at about its last quarter,so I used the corkscrew again and it worked just fine.At first it was a little funky, kind of akward, but with time it came through beautifully, started out with a medicine like taste, mercury I would say, that blew off and came aound with awesome fruit, showing bordeaux terroir, honey and roses, quite complex. On the palate it was medium bodied but it beefed up with time.I'm not british, but this is what the british mean when they use the word claret,IMHO.
Good amount of sediment on the bottom, but nothing out of the expected for a wine this old.First I ever had from the year of my birth, loved every drop of it.
