Almost entirely mute aromatics, smelling of pretty much nothing at all. Is this going to be a letdown, an empty shell? One sip puts all worries to rest. First the '47 cranked up the smoky earth factor from the '24, and now the '49 is cranking it up even further; this may be the most powerful of the three in terms of its expressiveness of those classic scorched earth and mesquite smoke characteristics. So damn succulent and savory and puts you in for a serious craving for some dry-aged-into-the-red-zone red meat, of which we fortunately had a limitless to supply to feast on.
