Whoa! This bottle was great! It was an improvement over the wonderful bottle I opened 2 years ago. Initially, there were the yeasty, brioche notes, followed by lemon custard and keylime pie elements. Later, the brighter citrus tones and minerality shined. Fine bubbles and impeccably balanced with a long elegant finish. A hint of almond oil. This stole the show and impressed palates who ordinarily don't favor for Champagne. Entering maturity and worth popping a bottle.
Yellow, with signs of age. Lovely intense bouquet of white flowers, toasted brioche, butter, yeast with peaches, papayas and hints of mint. Good structure on the palate, acidic and fruit along with freshness was in good harmony. Some green apples, Chinese pear and hints of young fruit, but I slowly got more and more secondary characteristics like butter, nuts, toast and oil. I felt some vanilla cream and orange peel at the end. Good champagne.

(Pol Roger Cuvée Winston Churchill) A refined style on the nose, lightly honeyed with polished fruit and a wisp of smoke. Very elegantly composed. Great harmony, grippy and quite primary and yet still very harmonious. A lovely style, fine composition, clearly tip-top quality. This is wonderful to experience now, but it should be given time in the cellar to reveal its true magnificence.
