The colour is light, the fruit has faded and the tannins are long gone, but this wine is actually in perfect harmony and if having consumed this wine 10-15 years ago it probably would have rendered 92-93 pts. Bought in a restaurant for 50 euro (dollars), quite a treat and certainly worth buying if you happen to find a well stored bottle. This bottle was perfectly cellared since release. They say 1974 was a disaster - but Smith Haut Lafitte made a great wine this year and it has declined in the most graceful way.
