  • My one and only bottle enjoyed at the Square with Nigel and Ian. Served at 13 degrees. There is a deep red core to this wine with slight bricking to the rim. Smells clean. Initially the nose is dominated by Vosne characteristics of spice and scent seducing you. There are secondary notes of porcini and earth and underbrush, fabulous. As it settles down there is that haunting scent of Chambolle; ethereal. It tastes almost as good as it smells; initially fresh Pinot fruit with a lovely soapy finish I associate with Chambolle and Mugnier, then increasingly as it opens up earth, minerality and spice giving way to a slightly fuller 1985 characteristic of a warm vintage. It reminds of the 1985 Guigal's I've tasted recently and as the wine gets more air in the glass it becomes slightly more generic and less Burgundian. I'm quibbling this is a fantastic wine and a pleasure to drink.

  • Dinner - bring a great bottle (Custom House Tavern - Chicago IL): Great aromatics with lots of rose petal, raspberry and strawberry. Gorgeous spice comes through prominently on both the nose and palate. Tannins are perfectly integrated balanced, acidity stands out and provides great texture and length. Really an elegant and sexy wine that somehow seemed to personify what we would expect from top notch Amoureuses.

  • Beautiful classic mature burgundy nose, sweet red fruit with amaizing spices that go on and on. Palate follows thru tremendous supple fruits, sweet round alomost lush flavors to solid core of red cherries.Elegant, pretty, and so very feminine. Zippy, lonv finish, with exotic spices.
    Drinking surberb. Special stuff.
