Thanks to David for sharing this bottle, on the occasion of our first meeting. Light ruby in the glass. High-toned aromas of raspberry and earth. On the palate, some violet and spice, with all flavors framed by gentle dusty tannins. Good persistence. A wonderful accompaniment to fall preparations of lamb and pork.

This today is well pasted it's maturity. Browning, tea color. No fruit remains, just tannins and hints of tobacco, truffles on the noise (if use your imagination). No flavor to speak of in the mouth. I plan to discard the bottle after tasting and sipping half a glass.

Pinot Noir Tasting (Meo Camuzet, Flowers, Hansel, Cristom...) (Zoot Restaurant): Right out of the bottle, this promised to be a good start to our tasting. Nice mature nose of cherry, strawberry, underbrush, truffle, and a hint of barnyard. Red fruit, peet moss, earth, and a good dose of acidity come together in a medium-long finish. Later on in the evening, many of us thought it was becoming more obvious that this wine may have been corked.

Solid wine that's a bit rustic on the nose and palate.

Mostly Alsace, Featuring 1995 Frederic Emile and Clos Ste. Hune (Nopa, San Francisco): Medium to lighter ruby. Mullberry and anise. Positively silky for an '88 Burgundy with some real sap. Focused black fruit with a hint of soil. Not at all hard or austere at present. Above expectations and simply drinking exceptionally well now.
