  • Light and thin, acidic, but not unbearably so. Nice cherry, but just one note, witha modest length

  • Took an ah-so and my widest-worm corkscrew to get the mushy cork out. On opening, a v. barnyard nose; modest color, no bricking. Moderately tannic and v. acidic, unpleasantly so, some sour cherry of moderate length.

Bottle opened half an hour, no change; now decanted -- maybe a full teaspoon of sediment

+ 30 minutes in the decanter. Still barnyard nose. Tannins retreated from the attack although still present throught the rest of the wine. Acidity still unpleasantly high, although a bit less. Sour cherries with some darker shadings.

+60 minutes decanted. Perhaps a little lengthening, but still stinky and sour.

+90 minutes. Stink has finally mostly disappeared, leaving mostly mushroom and black cherry. The acidity is down and the tannins sweetened a bit. All sorts of cherry -- red, black, and of course especially sour.

+120 through 270 Slowly smoothing out a bit more but never above 'good'.

  • Slight bricking. Mocha nose with almost a cheese and melon flavor. Drink now.
