Color/App: medium-deep gold; high viscosity. Classic, fabulous de Fargues bouquet of butterscotch, white peaches, saffron, gold raisins and, of course, creme brulee. Palate mirroring the nose and adding a little lime zest and barley-sugar. Acid level is high here so no issues with cloying sweetness -- though I would have to say some might find the finish a bit too short due to that acidity (though fine for me). Delicious, lovely, and certainly for drinking now and over the next 5+ years at least. For those who don't mind their full-bodied Sauternes slightly dryer than usual. As noted by Burgundy Al, certainly at the top for an '82.

Montrachet Dinner: 10 Vintages of Ramonet and Marquis de Laguiche, 1983-2002 (Oceana - New York NY): Bottle in perfect condition. Dried apricot and beeswax. Sweet but not cloying with good botrytis nuance. Good+ concentration and length with very good+ balance. Certainly top notch for the vintage.
