  • Very unusual nose: almost like chickpeas and hint of honey with almost no fruit.

Palate touch of fruit skins eg cherry with a bitter edge and some aged/mature mossy and moist woodland oak. Still some vibrancy with good acidity. Interesting but initially not so great to actually drink... Still surviving over an hour. Later on opened up to some lovely mellow toasty notes from the oak.

Glad to have tried this but a less enjoyable experience to actually drink versus some of the aged Piedmont I'd had recently.

  • Pefect cork (bottles are recorked every 15 years at the bodega). 30% of Cabernet in the blend. Beautiful transparent colour. Very clean, nuanced nose of dried berries with a hint of mushrooms and farmyard. Rather lean body with still some fruits remaining. Exquisite, it had a vibe of older Bordeaux.
