Clear, garnet-to-ruby with brick rim; blackberry, Chambord, ripe red plum, light cassis, light violets, baking spices, vanilla, black pepper, smoked meats, bacon on the nose; lush, ripe mouthful of black and red fruits, light anise; some RS; medium plus alcohol; refreshing acidity (medium); cocoa powder tannin (medium plus dryness); medium long finish; absolutely delicious; open and inviting; drinking beautifully now.
Nearing peak. Seductive nose of spice and tea, palate ruled by dark berry notes. Medium finish. Bit of heat on the finish that was muted with the lamb, more apparent as a post-prandial fault. Overall a good effort
