Italian night @ Maurice (Netherlands): Interesting, distinctive nose of smoke, flint, incense and wet rocks. Subtle fruit and stony minerality on the palate. Dense, viscous and powerful, without being clumsy or plump. Finish is marked by minimal alcoholic presence and there is a quite poignant sense of bitterness to it. Excellent. 17.5-18/20

Salone di Grandi Vini Bianchi (Mirabelle Restaurant Austin, Texas): This wine is dry but with a sweet nose, very floral with a touch of marzipan, green apple and pear, mineral driven with nice round complexity. Everyone seemed to enjoy this wine with subtle fruit, great floral tones, and a pronounced mineral driven finish. The strong favorite wine of this six bottle flight among three tasting groups.

(Trattoria Stella, Traverse City) Started off mineral, linear and almost austere. Lime leaves and a little citrus. Unwound and recoiled in intricate patterns over several hours, revealing more classic Ribolla elements but with a solid stone spine. Balanced, intricate yet with a lingering power. Beautiful.

Shockingly good, considering its age. Consistent with other reviews. Great wine- wish I had more.

Peach, citrus and some nutiness, with a beautifully moutcoating texture, and a medium plus finish. Magnificent.
