Sweet nose with light brioche, fruits and light mature notes (nutty/light caramel), really complex. Medium/heavy bodied, nice acidity and balancing acidity. Taste was equally complex. Certainly could age some more to get the nutty tertiary flavors, but great now. A touch on the sweet side for people, but I felt it was balanced.

From Jan 2017 disgourged bottle. This seems a bit primary - lovely depth from 3.5 years on lees but mousse not as fine as expected and it lacked a bit of freshness. Better mousse and acitity and this would be killer with 3-5yrs in bottle but as-is this became rather tiring after a glass. Shame. 90pts. Hold to 2020.

Blanc de Noirs Champagne tasting: (Disgorged January 1997, 31m on the lees) Still some bubbles left, but not that much. Mature and vinuous nose of mushroom, forest floor, sweet cumquat. Rather full bodied. This was more about wine that bubbles. A rare experience.

Wow, what a fabulous bottle of champagne. Disgorged in Feb 1996 after 54 months on the lees, this is based on 1990 vintage. Mature nose and palate showing incredible depth and class. Mushrooms, bruised apple. Nice minerality. Bubbles are superb of elegance: very fine, lifting the entire wine. Broad and structured, honeyed with just the right acidity. Awesome finish. What an amazing bottle.
