This is as good as the 1982 opened side-by-side if a bit darker in it's fruit profile and more sneakily complex. Classic dried florals, dried spice and herbs. Rich fruit with silky, refined tannins. Double decanted 3-4 hours before service. Classic in every way and quite tasty. Still fresh plum and cherry fruit with lots of leather, asphalt, licorice and dried floral complexity. Good integrated structure. Should hold for a decade+
