On first opening it seemed slightly oxidized but with air it rounded out and was more rich. Golden yellow color. Nose has hazelnut, peach toast, butter slight citrus. Acidity vey moderate. Fairly rich on the palate. It took a long time after decanting to fully come together. Hours. Flavors reflect the nose with a moderately butter flavor and texture. Finish fairly long. Went really well with soft scrambled eggs and white truffles.

The cork looked good coming out. The color of the wine was a medium straw gold and didn't look bad. But, the wine was oxidized just enough to make it unpleasant to drink.

The cork practically crumbled and I thought it would be corked, but it was just fine. This wine has held up well. It was never about fruit but about structure. There is a real nice feeling of body with this wine independent of any fruit component that I liked. This is an age worthy wine that requires good cellaring to preserve cork integrity. I recommend this producer to anyone who wants to try a different elegant side of California chardonnay via Chablis.

quite a bit better than a bottle i had three years ago. this is getting long in the tooth with a hint of oxidation, but i was pleasantly surprised by the lingering fruit and complexity. i know the wine's rep for extreme aging, but i don't subscribe. drink now.

What an amazin wine. Still far from end of live at Age 10. Can easily challange most Burgundy Chards.
