I held on to this one too long. I'm generally a fan of Maybach Chardonnays, but this is past its prime. Orange-yellow in color with some sharp acidic notes on the nose. Flabby and viscous, with flavors of overripe fruit and earth. Still drinkable, but I'm really glad this was my last bottle.

Past it's prime, I love Maybach Cab's but I've never really liked the Chardonnay offering. Hardly any acidity, fat, flavors compete with each other and is just darn right weird. I'd drink what you have of this as it's not getting any better.

Big cab dinner at Morton's - 07 Maybach, Ovid, Insignia and etc. (Morton's - Reston, VA): Initially strong note of sulfur combined with butterscotch which make it really funky. With air, extremely ripe yellow fruits, butterscotch totally dominates, orange peel and oak. Really fat, cloying due to lack of acidity and extremely ripe fruit. Not my cup of tea and IMO pass its prime. Drink up.
