Cork had just about soaked through. Bit of a mouldy, compost nose that ultimately blew off. Started slow, colour is almost see-through. Still has some structure, fruit, tannin and acid - but very much a tertiary wine - with all the elements creating a soft wine with plenty of character.

A blend of 90% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Merlot; 13% ABV. Mature but lively appearance, quite bricky but with a red core, medium colour; wonderful nose with both lift and depth, mature and harmonious, gentle but energetic, complex and complete (red meat, spices, earth, cedar, red berry fruit, warm gravel), warm and slightly autumnal but fresh; the palate is generous but relatively slender and elegantly styled, well-structured with ripe acidity and almost resolved but present tannins balanced by deliciously sweet fruit, clean flavours, spices, red berry fruit, slightly medicinal notes; complete finish, hints of eucalyptus and cocoa, very good length. A classic and a wonderful drink. Completely ready.

Amazing Henschke-nose, beef stew, eucalyptus, minerals, very ripe, cedar/cigar box, deep; powerful, rich but dry, grainy tannins; excellent length, dried fruit, spicy. Sometimes feels like a top 1989 Saint-Julien, but still very down under.

Wineflock - Henschke 'Master Class' tasting (Home): Group #4, My #7 - Cloudy deep garnet color. Medium aroma of bright tight red fruit. Nice tight black fruit on the palate with a long tannic finish.
