A pretty big surprise regarding this wine! Yes, it is a little candy-fied but there is some very redeeming qualities! The nose is Strawberry Jam, Pepper, and W/ a hint of BBQ and some candied Cherries. The taste is a little off balance with the alcohol bursting through (14.5%) but has a beautiful red fruit flavor. The finish is where you'll either love or hate this wine. It is a bit HOT but does have some great acidity with drying tannins, although a bit short, maybe 10-15 seconds. All in All, based on a number of california CAB wines I've tasted in the $10-$20 range, this surely deserves a try.

Good value wine. Big tannins and a little hot. Maybe a little eucalyptus.

Rather thin. Not worth $10.
