Chapitre and Induction Dinner of the Chevaliers du Tastevin (Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY): [Opened at 6:30 pm. Served at 8:00pm.] Nose has a bit of a green streak on first taste, but this blows off revealing an earthy, rich nose of black fruit. Big and rich in the mouth with deep fruit and firm tannins. If I owned this wine, I'd wait at least 5 years to open a bottle. I thought this was better with the beef course and this delicious duck course. 95-98 potential.

This bottle took a few minutes to come together, and then just continued to improve dramatically throughout the night. Loaded with signature Mugnier aromatics and such delicate fruit, perhaps slightly lacking on the finish, but otherwise excellent.

No notes taken. This needed time to come out of its shell.Medium expressive nose with fine red fruit, stems and some vegetal aromas. On the palate elegant and round, full of beautiful red berries, stems, vegetal aromas, minerality, some smoke. Gets fresher with time with menthol notes popping up caressing the red berries and stems. Some cola notes come out with time too. Got more expressive, layered and more balanced with every minute. At first 92, then 95+. Promising.
Decanting: I would decant it for 2 hours.

Red fruit, silky, airy and transperent. A very feminine BM that is drinking in the zone. It has weightless power, and perhaps just missing a little bit more structure for the terroir. But it is so crowd-pleasing. 94+

Autumnal wine that lacks precision.
