Solid if unimpressive. Opens with notes of oak, black licorice, and plums. On the palate it's a bit disjointed, with the tannins jutting out more than I expected. Pleasantly fruity yet nicely drying as well, it has flavors of cocoa dust, charcoal, blackberry, and plum. Not a bad wine, but tastes like its price.
