  • Simplest solution: just avoid this vintage.

  • The wine is clear and bright with a medium garnet colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(-) intensity aormas of bottle ageing (black olives), red fruit (red cherries) and hints of black fruits (black berry), flowers (violet) and pungent spices (black pepper).

The wine is dry with a medium acidity. It has medium(+) coarse tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours of ageing (black olives), red fruit (red cherries) and hints of black fruits (black berry), flowers (violet) and pungent spices (black pepper). The finish is medium(+).

It is a very good quality wine. It has a persistent finish and some fruit concentration well-balanced by the alcohol. However it lacks complexity, a better examples of this style would be more complex.

Drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop some more complex tertiary aromas over the next 2-3 years.

  • First time tasted, reasonable body, berries, peppery. Enjoyable, think it will improve.

  • 2nd Gastronomy Fair 2014; 3/30/2014-3/31/2014 (Intercontinental Hotel): Clear ruby color.
The nose is clean, med intensity, ethereal complexity, a bit heady, quite flowery, red fruit with currant, strawberry, berry, with black currant as wel as smoked notes, smoked meat, leather, clove, nutmeg, saddlewood, jam, youthful.
The wine is dry, med body and intensity, med alcohol and acidity, grainy and drying med+ tannins, red fruit, balanced, black pepper, clove and nutmeg, a bit of alcohol bite in the med+ finish.
Outstanding quality (especially if one considers the vintage), premium price, drinking now but could hold.
