Still holding together; surprisingly, more so than the Bruniers’ CdP from the same vintage. But in its old age. Wild garrigue notes have dropped out leaving behind a still tightly-wound acidic core. Pleasant to drink, but simple now. At this age the Terrasse du Diable shines brighter.

Tasted blind vs Terrasse; preferred this...preference has held over time. This one has older vines and more Syrah (15%), seems just the right amount to round things out.

Yes this wine is interesting. It is mature; Clear, Displaying its wooded stewed blue black and red fruit. Old wine characteristics dominate. At first it smells way over the hill, which in general I think it is. I won't buy this again. But beyond the aged and oxidative characteristics, is a very "beguiling" herbal (oregano) and blue red and black berry core. Quite expressive on the nose, and full and round in the mouth with remnants of a more tannic youth. Not an easy drink at first, but drew me in steadily after about 20-30 minutes. We'll see where it is on night 2...

Likely past its due date but still a nice, medium body red.

rich and austere on the attack soft mineral dark fruit with a lingering finish. Started to fade after about 2 hours of being open. Great value wine.
