This evolved into something quite interestng after a few hours in a decanter, putting on some serious weight as well as showing some Chambolle character. At first, a bit lean, acidic, stemmy, piney, tart. With time, this displayed a fresh nose of red fruit and spice followed by darker austere red fruit on the palate with firm tannins and lots of minerality. This is a rather masculine Chambolle, but it does speak of its terroir and is very Fourrier in character. It is quite a stereotypical '08 in term of its high a acid, but I like that. Yes, it is a bit acidic, but it has lots of energy to it and is a beast on the palate. It'll settle down a bit with time but pretty good now for what it is after a 3 decant.

Darker ruby in the glass, cherries on the nose, still young, lighter bodied, tart cherries, good acidity, nice village, but probably needs a few more years

Delicious Chambolle. Unlike the Gevrey, this started out very spritzy and needed a vigorous decanting/Mollydooker shake. But once the spritz settles down this offers pretty much everything you want in a Chambolle, from its sweet maply aroma to the lightweight, elegant palate presence and finish that seems laced with crushed limestone. Like the Gevrey, compulsively drinkable - but this is even prettier.

From memory:very good wine, but somehow I was hoping for more given past successes with Fourrier village Gevreys and MSDs. 91-92
