  • Four years (almost to the day) since my last note on this. Now a modest gold color; fully mature, resolved, balanced and feminine in style but with ample acidity still, this only warrants further cellaring if you like the nutty and melon qualities that come with aging “beyond peak”. I am amused by people who’ll age WB so they can rave about those few that taste 5 yrs old at age 15, but scream “prem-ox!” when a 15 yr old wine shows it’s real age (they actually detest the aromas and flavors of mature WB). At prime; if you truly like the complexity of mature WB, you have a 2-3 yr window. 93+

  • That was quite a relief to know that this wasn't in the loud, up to your face impression that I had last summer. Very intense shiny gold, on the nose immediately calling for attention with so many waves of citrus, honey, iode/flower mix and going on and on. Quite generous for sure on the palate but certainly bearing its origine where the limestone is well under the Puligny vineyards but also showing multi faceted generosity of honey and slightly saline/honey/flowery which ever so inviting and make us totally addicted to white burg... the whole symphony of flavors are all quite tightly held by an energetic a and fresh backbone which signals a quite long life ahead. Cheers,

  • Heureusement pas de signe d'oxydation, mais d'évolution et où d'élevage. Nez assez puissant sur les noisettes. C'est gras et ample mais un peu lourdeau pour moi qui aime les Puligny électrisant...

  • A bit too young yet and surprisingly(actually not) considering the '09 was more advanced, but the vintage is right in these bottles and that's what makes these gems so alive. For now, at least this bottle, was very pure, refreshing and indeed bright with wonderful potential, but needs a few more years as it is a bit one dimensional. Cheers,
