Pretty nose of blackberry, red cherry, earth, mushroom, spice. Good concentration to the elegant medium weight flavors that glide across the palate, where the velvety tannins show just a little grain on their own but smooth out with food. There’s a twist of 08 acid on the finish, but this maintains the properly regal bearing of a good albeit not world-beating Suchots.

Dinner at Greenwood (Greenwood, Highland Park, IL): Nose: The nose is perfumed, nuanced, and more together than it was back in 16 as tones of red cherries, strawberries, fresh picked berries, earth notes, mint tones, violets, and herbs. There is still a shyness to the nose but this is much more expressive than the last time I had it.
Taste: The feel is Medium bodied with crisp, medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. The structure is starting to peel back and is showing very good balance along with red cherries, strawberries, fresh picked berries, earth notes, violets, and herbs.
Overall: This is still improving but it is still better than the last time I had it. There is excellent balance and perfume right now and I look forward to tasting this again in a few more years to see how it has developed further.

Burgundy & Baseball - Cubs Win the Pennant! (Home): This showed rather simple and four square, with none of the spice you'd expect in a high quality Vosne. Otherwise the wine is certainly correct and well balanced.

10 years passed, the aroma lacks floral note but faint fruit. Very far far from Arnoux's Suchots. Not recommended.

Wines While Watching the Cubs Win the Pennant (House of Nanda - Chicago IL): Red fruit with spice hints. Modest weight and length. Slightly plain and less distinct than I'd prefer for Vosne 1er from a good vintage.
