Menthol, leather and black cherry nose. Minty anise and dark berries. Rounds to overripe strawberries with a white pepper moderate dry finish. Spiciness lingers and seems to refresh nicely with a little saliva. Kicked the living snot out of the cod that was prepared but i wanted the Zin more than the food. Pair with sharp cheeses and roasted pork. Just sayin'.
PnV. Dark bloody crimson not saturated with violet to clear rim. Classic zin nose of blackberries and dusty herbs. Medium weight with velvety tannins. Rich black and red fruits on the palate lots of blackberry with a slight herbal edge. Very flavourful with refreshing acidity. Lots of life on this still.
Better on day 2 - more elegant and integrated. +1 This is definitely still a baby. Wish I had more.
big wine - bold, but with bright red fruit. At times, it was tart cherry and raspberry. This is not a subtle smooth wine, but all in your face. Not much mineral or earth tones. It was good, but I cannot imagine this wine being drinkable for years to come.
