Cork was well intact and pulled easily Dark opaque ruby in the glass, medium viscosity and no real signs of visible age. Seems bright The nose is dark red fruit, a bit brambly, some funk and a bit barnyard in that regard, oak. Palate delivers on that with black cherries, firm tannins, some cocoa. Medium acidity as customary for bdx. It punches a bit at the start, fruit was forward and tannins had real grip. It smooths out with air time and really comes together to be more polished and satiny, especially on the finish, quite delightful. In a nice window of maturity with room to run is my take.

Bought 12b for 22/b from Sam's as futures 16 years ago; this is #4. Solid cork. Decanted with light sediment for its age. Purple; fragrant redcurrant, some oak; mature redcurrant, bit of red cherry, subtle oak, some complexity, very good mouthfeel; good persistence. Delicious with some years of life ahead. Stored horizontally in a cool, dark basement since purchase. My evaluation (see earlier posts for my 4-category, non-point rating system): This is outstanding- when considering quality, age, and price.

Last bottles from a lot I bought 1 year ago, a pitty. This drinks wonderfully at the moment. Great fruit, with a very long, sweet and slightly tannic finish. This can keep for many more years.

A bit sturdy, tannic Bordeaux, good fruit, fresh and with a nice finish. We drank it over 2 days, on both days similar impression. Very nice to drink now, could have aged a touch longer.
