Slow ox for one and half hour. This is in terrific shape. Fully mature but still having a bit of energy. This show morello cherry and wild strawberry with some iron and herbal notes. This was also quite elegant and well balanced, resembling more a Volnay style wine than a Pommard. This is fully mature so there isn’t any reason to wait but it will hold for 5-10 years.

Two hour decant. Classic nose of black pinot fruit, flowers and herbs. The wine still has a lot of structure indicating it has a long life ahead and at times almost tastes bordeaux like but in a good way. Flavors of black currant, mushroom and herbs come through into an excellent complex finish. This is a great rendering of an aged Pommard.

Epic Bordeaux for an Epic Birthday!; 9/1/2021-9/12/2021 (Paris & Bordeaux): From a magnum. Next to an 81 Richebourg and so didn't probably get the proper level of attention it deserved but I remember thinking that it was a nice classic burgundy.

opening up with a glacial pace - pretty good fruit but slightly short. Just coming out of its shell. Let's try again in a few years.

Disappointing. Single note red fruit nose, but oddly thin and dry on the palate, short. Didn’t seem damaged, just not very good.
