A little more advanced than previous bottle with similar favour profile with just a touch of butterscotch and sherry that detracted from the zest and purity. Still a fine drink with great length and finish but demonstrates the vagaries of cork !
Did not disappoint. Plenty of backbone, but plenty of (mostly citrus) fruit, as well. No signs of age whatsoever. Fairly rich, in spite of its rather bracing acidity. Served with light, cold appetizers. Probably better suited to drink with a warm buttery or creamy entree.
A solid showing - did not seem as old as it is; still exhibiting strong structure and acidic spine, but not at all overpowering, as the wine was loaded with mouth watering citrus fruits, i.e., lemon, apple, pear, and a hint of orange. With time, tell-tale pasture and candle wax notes emerged on the nose as well, followed by a long, noble finish. This seemed like the real deal; and while I would suggest no real hurry to drink up, I'm not sure how much better it'll get with additional cellar time. Hold to find out, or drink and enjoy now!
