Quite developed and missing a little tension. Having said this, the bouquet is full of cookie dough, some plums and a little Chocolate. The palate has a little umami, lovage and quite earthy tertiary notes.

Popped and poured over Grilled Duck and Rare-fried Calves Liver main courses at 5 Hertford Street, Mayfair. Rounded, succulent, fully mature but still lots of nice fruits. Very good value relatively off the wine list but outshone by the Ch. Musar 2001.

Monopole Blind: Ruby-garnet, some fading; stems, sous-bois, wet earth, cassis, stewed plum, tomato, dry herbs, earth, clay, coffee grounds. Well balanced, developed, not terribly complex. Guessed '04 left bank Bordeaux. This is 71% CS.

The wine was not ballanced with too much alcohol and this is a shame because it shoved some good notes of fruit and spice after beeing opened for an hour but it was still overwhelmed by the alcohol a bit! It did not match the price in my oppinion.

On the nose there is a wonderful earth, petrichor and pyrazine complexity.
Mouth full of red currants and candied cherries with chocolate.
Unlike the 97 which really like an aged Dominus, this is very unique for Napanook although I haven't had that many aged.
