Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 94 points

  • Discrete and after 1h of decanting more expressive notes with earthy elements dominating, dark and red fruit as well, brooding. The palate confirms the slightly rustic and lean side of this. Like so many 2008 Burgundy this is marked by tannins and not really joyful. May be they are like the 1994 Bordeaux and need 30 years in the bottle to shed their tannins and get ready to drink.

  • Wow - this was good. Big smokey, spicy nose. Coffee and licorice.
Incredible smokey, flinty mouth that keeps going. Tannins perfectly in balance. This is already drinking well!

Comments by Pierre Vincent (the winemaker) - "very easy wine to make with a long maceration of 3 weeks", "use of natural yeasts","we make 3 barrels of this".
