nice perfume of spice and red fruits but not overly intense. fruit fades after an hour or so in the glass with oak predominating. as others have noted, there is a lightness to this wine that acid and tannin somewhat overpower. enjoyable but lacks a certain degree of balance.
"Celebrating" I got fired today....sigh :-( So thought it in it's place have a nice glass of Vosne-Romanée. Colour is medium dark ruby. The nose shows a good level of Vosne-spice for this level. The taste is composed more of light red sour cherries. Definitely a classic 2008 here. Which is to say a HEALTHY dose of acidity underneath the light fruit. This is a wonderful wine but something tells med that even though I love Vosne-Romanée, it's not the Appellation I would hunt down in this vintage. Simply because the lightness of Vosne have a hard time coping with the large amounts of acidity. At least on this level.
