Transparent brilliant ruby-garnet. Dark, ripe, slightly shrivelled Damson plum, violets and raspberry jelly. Succulently juicy acidity, satiny mouthfeel, fine-grained tannin and well-integrated alcohol. Medium long finish features abundant juicy red fruit and a delicate touch of fennel seed.
A difficult wine (the Vougeot Clos du Village) that showed flat, but the second day it showed more quality and dept. The colour is light, the bouquet is pure and the mid- and aftertaste are pure, fresh, but light. Too young? Maybe.
