  • Stood up for 4 days and then decanted off relatively mild amounts of fine sediment. Decanted for 1h then back into bottle. Now 4h after decant. In Riedel Extreme Vinum PN glass. Lovely aromas of red and black cherries w a bit of kirsch, green stems, herbs, some brown leaves, a hint of bark and sous bois. Palate w tart red cherries, some green stems and herbs, bark and a hint of sous bois. Medium body w high acids and mild+ tannins. Finishes w some grapefruit and cherries and lingering tannins. The nose is definitely more complex than the palate. But palate still has a nice elegance with a sense of power from the weight and grippy tannins. I think there is still some room for more evolution. Too bad this is my last bottle. Lovely drink w food and went really well with kofta, hummus, and dolmas.

  • Stood up for 1 week and decanted off fine sediment. Initially, fairly angular with tart acids and tannins jutting out. Now 3 h after decant. Really took about a 2 hr after decant for the wine to come together. Bright red and black cherry aromas mixed with damp forest floor earth, mild green stem notes and mild soy sauce. Bright red and black cherries on palate with damp earth, mild soy sauce, herbs, minerals. Moderate tannins on midpalate. Finishes with lingering cherries and apples, minerals and some earth. The fruit is really pretty on this and elegant but still with good structure from the tannins and acids. I'm digging this. Given the ample fruit along with tannins, maybe hold on opening next bottle for another 2-5 years to see where this will evolve.

  • PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs and day 2
    -semi-translucent dark red-purple
    -tart fruit and minerality
-med+ acidity, light/med- weight tart dark fruit
-tart/dark in profile/light in weight, has some Morey character peeking through the vintage's acidity and the producer's light touch

  • PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-nearly semi-translucent dark red/purple with mild bricking
-moderately fragrant herbal rhubarb cherry green
-med+ acidity, med- weight but good mid-palate sap lively dark cherry, not overly complex or long but certainly respectable for its level
-very pleasant lighter weight village wine on the cusp of adequate ripeness drinking well now without much upside at this point
