  • Light red-brown
Decliate bouquet of dried earth, mineral, forest fruit and strawberry. As wine opens more slices of red plum, powdered rock and a savoury almost meaty elements. Quite a restrained wine needed coaxing out of the glass.
A rich yet plum skin texture on entry filled with oven-baked plums, warmed strawberry, rhubarb crumble, and then a sour redcurrant note creeps in, adding an edge of acidity. A very savoury, meatyness starts to kick in on the mid-palate as the crisp acid shows itself assuaged by a fleshy strawberry fruit from the warmer vintage yet underneaths lies a mineral, chopped rocks and sharp tang of drier firmer tannins. Feels almost boney towards the back palate despite the fruit. Gutsy, linear yet all well balanced. Showing nicely.
