13.9% alcohol. Moderately proportioned, balanced, refined, and yet surprisingly juicy with notions of crushed dark berries, smoke, game, a subtle herbal/stem suggestion, and maybe a floral imprint in the aromatic. Drinking nicely now (give it at least an hour or so of aeration), but certainly no hurry.
CT blind tasting group at David's: Not much apparent Syrah character here, though it's a well made wine with plenty of dark fruit, faintly stemmy/herbal accents, and bright acidity underneath. It doesn't have any of the more interesting savoury notes I'd look for in Syrah though, and it's rather one-note.
