Inviting nose of red fruits, spice, some graphite and tar too. Very delicious palette of dark red cherry that moves into red currants and raspberry mid-pallette with just the right amount of acidity to remain fresh and vibrant. Tannins are integrated with some oak hints on the silky medium long fruit filled finish. Certainly in the peak maturity range now, it should continue to drink well for a few more years. Drink now-2020.
PnP. Needed some air time but came together after 1/2 hour. Fruit has faded but has picked up earth, herbs. Medium bodied, decent finish, nice acidity providing some grip. Solid wine though I suggest a short decant.
