Jailbreak Wine Dinner - Krug 168, Ultramarine, MacDonald and etc. (Jailbreak Brewery, Laurel, MD): Unbelievably intense nose displaying massive ripe red and black fruit, licorice dominates, cherry liqueur, crème de cassis, plum, ink, liquid smoke, tobacco, dark spices and earth. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of explosive black and red fruit, rich, unctuous and opulent, bright acidity, earthy mineral, noticeable fine tannins and a long intense red fruit driven finish with licorice and dark spices at the end. One of the most concentrated wine of my life. I wonder how the extremely ripe fruit expression will evolve with time.

Wine Spectator newbies; 10/18/2018-10/20/2018 (Marriott Marquis): I was pretty excited to try this and expected to like it even more than the '05. As it was, it came across as a bit more intense. Lots of fruit. There is also some menthol and a bit of tobacco. I think the blend allows these wines to get quite a few more dimensions. It's still just too young though. I prefer my wines when the oak has faded some and for this wine it's still quite there.

A Few Wines with BBQ (Bannockburn, IL): So massive and hedonistic that I really didn't want to enjoy. But so tasty, I had to enjoy. While this isn't the wine I would buy at its market value, it is incredibly well done in its style.

Drank on good times with Debragga. Extremely elegant on first day after decanting for two hours. Fuller bodied on second day, with an almost indiscernible scratch on the finish.
